Managing Lessons
How to capture, edit, validate, and organise your team's lessons learned.
1Capturing a Lesson
Click "Capture New Lesson" from the dashboard. The form includes fields for: title, detailed description, trade, category, subcategory, severity level, project assignment, and tags.
Choose a severity level that reflects the impact: Critical (safety risk or major cost), High (significant impact), Medium (moderate impact), or Low (minor observation).
Add relevant tags to make your lesson easier to find later. Tags are searchable and help categorise lessons beyond the primary category.
2Editing Lessons
To edit a lesson, open it from the lesson list and click the edit button. Admins and Managers can edit any lesson. Operatives can edit their own lessons.
Editing a previously validated lesson will reset its validation status — an admin will need to re-validate it.
3Validation Workflow
New lessons start as unvalidated. Only admins can see unvalidated lessons (plus the creator).
To validate a lesson, an admin opens the lesson and clicks "Validate". This marks it as reviewed and makes it visible to all team members.
If a lesson needs changes, admins can reject it with feedback. The creator receives a notification and can update the lesson.
4Comments & Likes
Team members can comment on validated lessons to add context, ask questions, or share related experience.
The like button lets the team highlight the most valuable lessons. Liked lessons surface higher in relevance.
